IDPH Exam
OWPI will once again host the location for the Illinois Dept. of Public Health (IDPH) license exam. The exam is for any individual that would like to become licensed in the State of Illinois as an installer, pumper, or a portable sanitation technician. In order to take the exam at our event you must register with the IDPH by completing their application and submitting it, along with a photo and payment. Registrations must be postmarked no later than December 27, 2025. The exam will be held during the 2026 OWPI Conference & Tradeshow on January 27th, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. in the Illini room at the Gateway Convention Center in Collinsville, IL. The exam will be conducted by Chad Moorman, Program Manager for the IDPH. Please use the link below to obtain the IDPH License Exam application. Upon receiving your application, you will receive a confirmation email from IDPH showing you are registered for the class as well as links for printing out the IDPH Sewage Code, study guide, and other items to assist you in taking the exam.
IDPH Exam Prep
In an effort to help those individuals taking the IDPH installer or pumpers license exam, OWPI will provide an Exam Prep Class prior to the exam. This class is designed to answer specific questions you may have regarding the IDPH sewage code. The class will be conducted by Mr. Rick Hafer, Environmental Health Specialist 3 with the IDPH Region 3 office. There will be brief presentations regarding the individual exams and a question & answer session. The class will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Illini room at the Gateway Convention Center in Collinsville. There is no charge for attending the exam prep class. The class is only open to those individuals that are taking the IDPH exam at the OWPI event. Attendees will receive 3.00 hours of continuing education credits (CEU’s) for the renewal of their 2027 license. Attendees will also have access to the OWPI tradeshow where they can see the top manufacturers and suppliers of on-site wastewater treatment equipment. In addition, attendees will be allowed to join us for a complimentary lunch at the convention center. In order to register for the OWPI License Exam Prep Class please use the link below. Scholarship Opportunity
The board has been meeting once a month to plan for the 2026 conference and upcoming programs for the organization to support. This includes the approval of scholarships to be awarded to our members’ families that will be used for continued education for a trade school, university, or college.
